PDE with non-local source term

The PDE is based on some mechanical model with feedback loop. Is it possible to check whether such PDE may have solution or reformulate it to the more conventional form ? The source term is activate when u>u*. The generated force (F) decays with the distance from the center of the "activation region" or closest boundary with u>u*.
