A sattelite flies one earth radius above ground. Find the percentage of the earth surface that can be seen on a Picture taken by it.
Earth radius: 6370 km
I had written a long time ago: h = r/2 -> 6370/2 = 3185
Surface area of the cap = 2πrh -> 2*π*6370*3185 = 127476091
Earth surface= 4πr^2 = 4*π*6370^2 = 509904364
Percentage= 127476091/ 509904364 *100% = 25% <- that's the right answer

But I don't get anymore why h equals r/2. Is that considered for all caps? Can someone please explain me that?
