Parallel lines: are x - y = 7 and y = x + 6 parallel?

Determine wheter the two lines are parallel: x - y = 7, y = x + 6 (Hint: lines are parallel if the slopes are the same). Using the TI89 Calculator.
 
Follow the hint: Find the slopes of the two lines.

For instructions on how to use your calculator, please review your owners manual, or follow the instructions you were given in class.

(To be honest, I don't see how using a calculator on this one would be "easier" or "faster" than just solving the first equation for "y=". I can't imagine why you're being required to try to do this in such a difficult manner.)
