Hello All,
I was hoping someone could help me figure out this math problem I have been having issues with. The question is as follows:
Find an equation of the line that passes through the point (-2, 2) and is parallel to the line 2x - 4y - 8 =0

If someone out there could explain this to me I would be ever so grateful!

Olivia

Parallel lines have the same slope.
Do you know how to find slope?
Given a point and a slope, can you write the equation of a line?

There are loads of "someones out there" who can explain straight-line equations!

. . . . .Google results for "line equations"

Have fun! :D

P.S. Welcome to FreeMathHelp! 8-)

Thanks!

Thanks for your help you two! I was having trouble wording it for a google search but after clicking on the link, the first website had my answer.

Thanks Again,
Olivia
