Find the values of x where the line y = -2x + 20 intersects the parabola y = 2x squared + 3x - 22

Solve simultaneously. Since y = this and y = that, then, this = that. (You'll end up with a quadratic equation to solve.)
Give it a go.

We type exponents using the caret symbol, like this:

y = 2x^2 + 3x - 22
