We are working on a project in class on Analytic Geometry. (parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas) I am allowed to research this in any way so, here I am! I just have a few questions. I need to see your work so I can understand the concept better.
1. Find the vertex and the focus of the parabola given by x^2=-1/8y
(i don't know how to show "squared")
2. Find the vertex, focus, and the directrix of the parabola given by
x^2-10x-8y+33=0
3. Find the equation in standard form of the parabola with directrix x=5 and a focus(11,-7).[/img]
