Complete the ordered pairs for the equation y = 2x + 2

a) (1/2, ?)
b) (-1/2,?)

I know the equation is to be 1/2=2x+2 and -1/2 =2x+2 but I have no clue how to work them to get the answers.

Re: Ordered Pairs

Ordered pairs are \(\displaystyle \L \left( {x,y} \right)\). So you are given \(\displaystyle \L\left( {\frac{1}{2},?} \right)\, \Rightarrow \,x = \frac{1}{2}\).

Now substitute for x and solve for y: \(\displaystyle \L y = 2\left( {\frac{1}{2}} \right) + 2\).

Answers are 3=2(1/2)+2 and 1=2(-1/2)+2

y=2(-1/2)+2
y=-2(-1/2)+2
y=-2/2+2
y=-1+2
y=1

Now you have it correct.
However, you should write the answers as ordered pairs.

yes I will and I have to show my work. Thank you
