Order of solving to zero for multiple cases

Hi Folks,
I have a problem but I'm not sure where to start, here is my scenario:
There are 50 diseases out there
100 people have one or more of these diseases
each disease has equal weight
In what order to I cure the diseases in order to get the greatest amount of people to 0 (disease free). I.E.
Jack (Measles, mumps, rubella)
Jane (Measles, mumps)
Jane (Parkinson's)

Obviously I'd go -> Measles -> Mumps

But how can I solve this on a greater scale?

Experiment.

Will you accomplish your goal if you simply count and cure the disease with greatest incidence?
Will you accomplish your goal if you cure the highest incidence of those with only one disease?
Other approaches?

But PJC appears to be saying he is curing by the disease (cure all measels cases first, then all mumps, etc.) not by the person.
