First sketch the problem. Draw the rectangle inside the halfcircle, assuming that the base of the rectangle is on the diametrical line of the halfcircle (with the center of the halfcircle being the midpoint of the base of the rectangle) and the other two vertices of the rectangle falls on the half-circle. Without these assumptions - the problem can become intractable.
Now find relationship between the height and the base of the rectangle with the radius of the circle.
