An open-top box is to be constructed from a 6 by 8 foot rectangular cardboard by cutting out equal squaares at each corner and teh folding up the flaps. Let x denote the length of each side of the square to be cut out.
a) Find the function V that represents the colume of the box in terms of x
Now I get stuck here. I am totaly confused as to what this is asking and where I am to find the function. Basicly all I want to know is where do I start?
I know that the volume of a cube with an open top is V= LWH = 3W*WH = 3H^2*h
and I know that the volume of a rectangle is A=LW
