Evaluate the logarithmic equation for three values of x that are greater than 1, three values of x that are between 0 and 1, and at x=1. Show your work.

y=-log5x

Don't have a clue??? Anyone?

You could look to the other question that you posted for some more clarificaiton because there is a few replies for this same type of problem.

To give you a different view of things.

Evaluate means to solve:

Plug in a value for x for each range defined: here is how I would set it up...

\(\displaystyle y=-log(5x)\) -------- \(\displaystyle x>1\) so I would pick three values bigger than 1

\(\displaystyle y=log(5x)\) -------- \(\displaystyle 0<x<1\) pick three numbers between 0 and 1 and put each in for x

\(\displaystyle y=-log(5x)\) ---------- \(\displaystyle x=1\) plug in one

I hope this is helpful. You may reply to this post if you need more clarification.

As Jeffwest has posted, you need to just plug in the values for x to get the answers. This problem is mainly understand the values you get with this particular base.
Say x=5
-log5(5)=-1
-log5(25)=-2
Got the point?
