Find (-1) and f (k^1/2) for this function: f(x)=3x-2
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, vixsin,

This is just “function notation.” It’s very straightforward. Whatever is put in the parentheses, such as the “-1” in f(-1), we just plug into the equation in place of x:

f(x)=3x-2
Therefore, f(-1) = 3(-1) – 2 = -3 – 2 = -5

It’s that simple.
