Negative Exponent Equations

x*/y* (the asterisks are what I need to solve for) = 1/2x to the -3 times y to the 4th

in other words: X to what power divided by Y to what power =1 divided by 2X to the -3rd power times Y to the 4th power.

This has me stumped. HELP!

Is this correct? If not you need to use parenthesis to clarify.

Let k = 2(x^-3)(y^4)
Then x^n / y^n = 1 / k
(x / y)^n = 1 / k
n = LOG(1 / k) / LOG(x / y)

I don't know what you are supposed to do with the 2 since there are no provisions for it to appear in your answer if the objective is to have only x with an exponent in the numerator and y with an exponent in the denominator.
