I'm new to this site (show's how desperate I am, lol) I actually have 8 math problems that I'm stuck on, but I'll only post a few, I don't want to push it. My assignment is due in... 8 hrs! AH!
If you can please help I would be so happy! At least get me started and in the right direction!!
1. Solve the inequality. -21 < -5c + 4 < -16
Answer's to choose from: (a) -5 < c < -4 (b) 4 < c < 5 (c) -5 < c < -4 (d) 4 < c < 5
For this i've flipped the signs, moved numbers... idk what i'm doing..
2. Write the standard form of the equation of a line passing throught (3, -17), parallel to 8x-7y=87
Answer's: (a) 8x + 7y = 143 (b) 3x - 7y = 87 (c) -7x + 8 = 87 (d) 8x - 7y = 143
For this one so far i put -7y (divided by) -7y = -8x +87 (divided by -7y then y = 8/7x
but that's not right either
3. A national forest service wanted to estimate the number of deer in a particular national park. They caught and tagged 74 deer and released them back into the park. Later they selected a sample of 322 deer. Of the 322 deer, 23 were tagged. Assuming that the proportion of tagged deer in the sample holds for all deer in the forest, what is the best estimate of the number of deer in the park?
Answers: a-2303 b-1038 c-1036 d-47656
This one... I was just dividing random numbers..
Please and thank you for the help!!
