Each side of regular hexagon is 32.6 cm long. What is the radius of the inscribed circle???

A regular pentagon is inscribed in a cicle of the radius 3 inches. What is the perimeter of the pentagon??

What formulas do you have for polygons, relating their sides and radii?

Different books list different ones, with the same variable standing for different things, depending on the source, is why I ask. I don't want to post something that ends up confusing the heck outta ya!

Thank you.

problem

First, it helps if you draw a picture.
Okay, on first one, draw hexagon with opposite sides hortizontal.
Now, draw out the six equal triangles inside it.
Now, the angles in the center would be 360/6 = 60 degress, right?
And the other angles would be (180-60)/2 = 60 degress, right?
SO, if the circle touches the opposite sides, then i think youll find that Tan60 = r/(32.6/2) .

Now, on second one.
Using the same procedure, I think youll find that Cos54 = (s/2)/3, with s being the side of pentagon.

I hope that helps!
