If f(x) = 4x - 3 and g(x) = 2x + 2, find the value of:

a. f(-1)
Plug -1 in for x in the function f(x). Simplify. (This is called "function evaluation".)

Plug 0 in for x. Simplify.

Plug 2 in for x. Simplify.

d. f^-1(x)
Have you learned yet how to find inverse functions? If not, you can learn here.

e. fg(x)
f. gf(x)
Are these written as you've posted, so you're just multiplying (as an operation on two functions), or was there a floating open circle between the f and the g, so you're composing the two functions?

g. If f(x) = 5, find x
Plug 5 in for f(x). Solve for x. ;)
