Write an equation of the tangent line to the graph of y = f(x) at the point on the graph where x has the indicated value.

f(x) =
nqqm42.jpg
, x = 0

I am getting an answer of y = 6x + 4

d(a/b)=d(a*b^-1) =
a*d(b^(-1))db +b^(-1)da =
-1*a*b^(-2)db+b^(-1)da =
(-1*a*db + b*da)/b² =
(b*da-a*db)/b²
a=-2x²+8
b=3x-2
Try again.

This is a troll, Gene. Don't fall for it.

We already know who you are. This is clearly obvious. You're the same person who posts under multiple screen names and simply gives a random answer, without showing any work, hoping that we will give the right answer. I can see you and your "buddies" have arrived today.

I'd wondered about that, and had almost said something.

Wow I stepped away from my desk for a break and I come back and I am a troll. For the record I do not know any one else in this message board. Sorry you think I am a troll I am just a person that sucks at math!

Granted, it may just be a coincidence, but when the same set of names posts the same sorts of exercises using the same formatting and showing the same lack of effort, one tends to become suspicious.

You may just happen to be in the same area, but the following are all posting similar exercises (with similar formatting and similar graphics from the same server) and within the same time span from the same IP address (for the El Paso County, Colorado Springs, CO, Qwest Internet services):

. . . . .bigbird
. . . . .MissPiggy
. . . . .SMITH4
. . . . .Nathan23
. . . . .justjenn
. . . . .BrookeD
. . . . .OTHfan
. . . . .Jeffy
. . . . .mathman1
. . . . .douchey
. . . . .bethanyj
. . . . .TYSONG

To distinguish yourself from the pack, perhaps you could reply showing your work.

Thank you for your consideration.

Eliz.
