To start off - what is the definition of density?

if volume is a decimal do you multiply volume by mass. where volume is a whole number you would divide mass by volume but when volume is a fraction or decimal do you change to multiplication

Subhotosh Khan asked you a question. If you had answered it, you would have answered your previous question.

How do you measure density? What is its definition?

The quantity of something per unit measure, especially per unit length, area, or volume. But I still do not understand when the volume is a decimal (less than a whole number) do you multiply instead of dividing mass by volume?
