Hi, If anyone could help me with this equation i'd really appreciat it. I've tried calculating this equation and ended up with 1.175 m. I think the value is ok, it should be somewhere likely around 0 to 2 i think. But for some reason i was thinking that the units would be crossed out in the end..but i still ended up with my answer in meters.

11900kg m^-1 s^-2 + [(1800kg m^-3)(9.8m s^-2) - (1000kg m^-3)(9.8m s^-2)(0.8)] 2cos^2 34 tan 34.17
-------------------------------------------------------------------
(1800kg m^-3)(9.8m s^-2)(2m) sin34 cos34

Thanks

For us to be able to check your work, it would be very helpful if you displayed it.

Thank you.

thanks for responding and sorry about that...I origionally tried figguring out the units before doing the math. I was told it would make things easier... now that i've recalculated it all together again i realize i've made some mistakes... But heres my latest attempt:

= 11900kg m^-1 s^-2 + [(17640kg m^-2 s^-2) - (7840kg m^-2 s^-2)] 2 [1+cos (2 * 34) /2] (0.68)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(17640kg m^-2 s^-2)(2m) (0.5592)(0.829)

= 11900kg m^-1 s^-2 + [9800kg m^-2 s^-2] (1.3746)(0.68)
------------------------------------------------------------------
(35280kg m^-1 s^-2) (0.4636)

= 11900kg m^-1 s^-2 + (9160.3344 kg m^-2 s^-2)
----------------------------------------------------------
16354.989 kg m^-1 s^-2

= [11900kg m^-1 s^-2 + (9160.3344 kg m^-2 s^-2)] * [ m s^2 / 16354.989 kg ]

= 21060.3344
------------- = 1.2877 m^-1
16354.989 m
