l times w = 64
16 times w = 64
So what does w equal?

A = L*w

You know that A = 64 cm[sup:3bf34y0z]2[/sup:3bf34y0z]
You know that L = 16 cm

Substitute into your formula:

A = L*w
64 cm[sup:3bf34y0z]2[/sup:3bf34y0z] = 16 cm * w

Divide both sides of the equation by 16 cm:

64 cm[sup:3bf34y0z]2[/sup:3bf34y0z] / 16 cm = w

Simplify the left side.
