My professor has this problem he wants us to solve, but I don't know what to do.
The problem is as follows:
Solve.
2(x + 2y) = 20 - y
-7(x - y) = 16 + 3y
When I go to do the first problem, I get confused about the y being on both sides of the equation.
Here is what I end up with:
2x + 4y = 20 - y
Where do I go from here? I have the x and y on one side and a y on the other.
Kinda confused on this. Please help!!
Thanks.
