I need some help converting fractions and decimals. I've never been good at fractions. Below are some of the problems I am having difficulty with if you could assist me with the steps I'd appreciate it. :(

change to fraction in simplest form.
8.68

change to decimal
2 7/10

9/20

61/100

4 1/4

Need to arrange from least to greatest

1.85, 1 2/5, 1 7/10

1 3/5, 1.55, 1 4/25, 0.625

0.29, 1/5, 9/20

8/25, 3/8, 7/20, 0.3

I do everything in 100th's not sure about techniques anyone else has though :?:

So for the first one think if the decimal in 100th's, 10th's and units.
There are
8 100th's
6 10th's and
8 units

So thats 8/1 + 6/10 + 8/100
And putting them over a common denominator of 100.
800/100 + 60/100 + 8/100 = 868/100 = 217/25 = 8 17/25

Then changing fractions to decimals, again I put it over a nice number like 10 or 100 because they're easier to divide by, so for the first one I'd do:

2 7/10 as a top heavy fraction is 20/10 + 7/10 = 27/10
And dividing 27 by 10, move the decimal point one space to the left gives us 2.7

Hope that helps you with the rest.
Josh
