Need help setting up for 'How many nickels are there?'

I know the answer...but I did not solve it with an equation. Can someone please set this up for me? Here is the problem:

A collection of 52 dimes and nickels is worth $4.50. How many nickels are there?

Assume

N = number of nickels

D = number of dimes

Then

N + D = 52..............................................(1)

5*N + 10*D = 450...................................(2)

sOLVE THE ABOVE TWO EQUATIONS BY YOUR FAVORITE METHOD.
