It has been found that a worker new to the operation of a certain task on the
assembly line will produce P(t) items on day t, where P(t)=27-27e^(-0.4t)

How many items will be produced on the 1st day, and what is the maximum number
of items, according to the function, the worker can produce?

P(1)=27-27e^(-0.4(1))
= 9

Please explain how do we get 9.

e^(-0.4) = 0.67032

27e^(-0.4) = 18.09864

27 - 27e^(-0.4) = 8.90136

Close enough.

what is the maximum number of items, according to the function, the worker can produce?

Do you know what the shape of this graph looks like in Quadrant I?

y = e^(-x)

Also, please be sure to read and follow the main points on THIS PAGE before posting again. Cheers :cool:
