alright so i am in need of some help for two problems, and i would hope to get an answer asap... if anyone can help it would be awesome!

so problem 1 is LN(7) + LN(2x) = LN(84)

I feel like you are suppose to make into 7 over 2x = 84 and then cross multiply by making it 84/1..but i am unsure....

problem 2 is Log(17+2x) = 1.7

i wanna say you just make it 17+2x = 1.7, then subtract 17 from 1.7, and and then divide 2x by both sides, to get x, but then i get a negative number, and i am pretty sure it is no solution if it is negative, so did i do it right or no...i dunno...

please help asap. thank you

ln (2x) = ln 84 - ln 7 = ln (84/7) = ln 12
So 2x = 12, and x = 6.

problem 2 is Log(17+2x) = 1.7

log (17 + 2x) = 1.7
Rewrite as an exponential: 17 + 2x = 10^1.7 = 50.1187...
2x = 33.1187...
x = 16.559...

i wanna say you just make it 17+2x = 1.7, then subtract 17 from 1.7, and and then divide 2x by both sides, to get x, but then i get a negative number, and i am pretty sure it is no solution if it is negative, so did i do it right or no...i dunno...
