If you buy 4 balls and 2 more balls and 2 more balls again - how many balls did you buy in total?

oh I see and how would I write a answer out because we can't just give answers.
So if a question was d + 4d + 3d
Would the answer be 8?

The answer would be 8d (which means 8*d or 8 multiplied by d)

Or you can do it as follows
