I know this is an easy problem but for some reason I cannot think right now. Please help me! :?

The problem is:

3 teaspoons=1 tablespoon
4 tablespoons=1/4 cup
How many teaspoons= 3/8 cup?

Can you please show me the process to get the answer?

How many quarter cups are in 3/8 of a cup? (Hint: 3/8 = 1/4 + 1/8 = 1/4 + (1/2)(1/4).)

So how many tablespoons is that?

So how many teaspoons is that?

Eliz.

thank you but....

Thank you but, how do I solve the problem using proportions?, it is what i'm really having trouble with

I don't see the word "proportion" anywhere in your question :?:

Anyhoo... 1/4 cup = 12 teaspoons, right? (4 * 3)
so 3/8 = 12 / (1/4) * (3/8) = 18.
Hope you're PROPORTIONally ok with that

Remember: if a = b, then c = b / a * c ...proportionally speaking
