Hi, I have a quiz on this homework and I'm having trouble on one of the problems.

here it is: x^2+8x+16
-------------------- * x^2+8x+16
x^3+10x^2+32x+32

Please respond as soon as you can, thanks.

MULTPLYING AND DIVIDING RATIONAL help omgzzzz

Hi, I have a quiz on this homework and I'm having trouble on one of the problems.

here it is:

x^2+8x+16 / x^3+10x^2+32x+32 * x^2+8x+16

Please respond as soon as you can, thanks.

hints ...

x2+8x+16 = (x+4)2

x3+10x2+32x+32 = (x+2)(x+4)2

x^3+10x2+32x+32 = (x+2)(x+4)^2

Hmmm... I know how to do squared variables.

But I don't get how to do that problem up there. How did you get (x+2) and (x+4)^2?

How did you get (x+2) and (x+4)^2?

rational root theorem ... found that x = -2 is a root of the cubic using synthetic division ... the process also gave me the depressed polynomial x2+8x+16 ... rest was downhill from there.
