Which example is not equall or says s the same as the other 3,
9 X x, 9x,9(x) or x X 9 thanks signed Collin

Hello Collin:

When we use the letter x to represent unknown or varying values, then it's a good idea to NOT also use the letter x as a multiplication sign.

In these circumstances, we can use an asterisk, instead, to show multiplications.

Therefore, the four given expressions are:

9 * x

9x

9(x)

x * 9

Next, I'm not sure that I correctly understand your question.

Are you thinking that you're supposed to show which of these expressions may be equal, and which may not be equal, to each other?

Do you realize that each of these four expressions are different ways of expressing "9 times the number x"?

Have you heard the phrase "implied multiplication"?

Do you know the meaning of the word "explicit"?

Please let us know what you already know about these things, so that we might determine where to continue helping you.

Cheers,

~ Mark
