This exercise does not make sense to me. Here is the given information in this 3 circle venn diagram:
494 People have injuries, 774 have illnesses, 1254 had tests, 238 have injury & illness & tests, 700 have illness & test, 501 have tests but no injury or illness, 956 have injury or illness, and 1543 are not patients of the hopital.
The reason that this problem does not make sense to me is because when I drew the diagram and filled in the information that could be filled in, only a total of 700 people had illness and injury, but if you add 238 (the number of people that have all 3) and 501 (the number of people that had test done), that right there is more than 700! I am lost on this one.
Please don't post the answer to the problem, only help me to understand this situation. Thank you.
