You have: 20 x2 + 30 x - x2 - x You'll need to re-arrange terms so that combining becomes easy. You have x2 terms and x terms. So put those together like thus: 20 x2 - x2 + 30 x - x You have 20 x2 - x2 → how many x2 is that and You have 30 x - x→ how many x is that Now put all those together....
