please help solve using steps

w-(-4)=6

A negative times a negative is a positive, right? So really, you have w + 4 = 6
Now subtract 4 from both sides to get w by itself.

w-(-4)=6
+4 +4
w=10

Incorrect! What did I say in my previous post?

w-(-4)=6
w-(-4)+(-4) = 6 + (-4)
w = 2

Or just change the sign right away:

w-(-4) = 6
w + 4 = 6
w + 4 - 4 = 6 - 4
w = 2

Sorry My anwser was incorrect!
w-(-4)=6
first you need to change the signs so you problem will become
w+(+4)=6
then your going to subtract 4 from both sides so:
w=2
Check steps:
w-(-4)=10
2-(-4)=6
6=6
