square root of (x^2 - 4)/(x-4)

I know that the Domain is x cannot = 4 and -2 <(or equal to) x <(or equal to) 2

But i need to know the steps on how to find the second domain algebraically because i did that on my calculator

Hints: Can you divide by zero? Can you have negatives inside square roots?
