Where did the 7/2 come from and how did you get that answer?

You are not mixed-up
3 1/2 should be written 3+1/2
The way mixed fractions are written is JUST WRONG, it looks like 3/2 not 7/2!!!!

Whoever came up with writing mixed fractions that way, should have been hanged.
Just put a plus sign in every mixed fraction and you will be fine.
