I need to know the steps to get from:
1/2*T + 1/2*sqrt(3)*T = mg
to:
T = 2mg/(1 + sqrt(3))
This is the latter part of a video here: https://courses.edx.org/courses/MITx/8.MReVx/2T2014/courseware/Unit_1/Equilibrium/
The first equation shows up at about 5:45 minutes and then the teacher jumps to the second equation at 6:00. I can't figure out how to do this.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
