12 - (4 -7 + 6) Since there is a minus sign, I know to change the signs. The answer key says 9, but I am not getting that.

If you change signs you get: 12 - 4 + 7 - 6 ; sign of numbers INSIDE brackets are changed, then brackets removed.

Okay, I got 9. I wasn't sure If I change 12 - to 12 +
