Mind Game (Word Puzzle)

Write a seven-letter word that generally defines what hydrogen or gold or krypton is in the periodic table. After that, write a six-letter word that may be defined as “lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern” in regard to a subject or cause. Between the first and second letters of that word, insert the two-letter abbreviation for an officer ranking just below a captain. Move the first three letters of the letter string directly after the under-captain abbreviation. Adjust the spacing of the letter string so that you form a two-word phrase that might be defined as a meeting of the minds.
