Kk soo I need help with substituting to find out the linear system. Help ? ;D , kso the question is:
x=-4y-6
2x+6y=5
Solve it using the method of substitution. Doing it step-by-step would be greatly appreciated.
Have a test tomorrow, so help me as soon as possible ;]

Ok sorry. Just , tell me step by step, how to solve the following linear system using the method of substituting :

Just , tell me step by step, how:

x = -4y - 6 This equation defines another expression for x.

In other words, instead of writing x, you can write -4y - 6 instead.

2x + 6y = 5

Do you see the variable x, in the second equation ?

It appears in the first term, 2x.

Replace that symbol x with the expression given above that equals x.

The result is an equation containing only the variable y.

Solve for y.

Evaluate x using your result for y.

Check your answer.

Do you have any specific questions about the lesson referenced by Subhotosh? I mean, do you understand it?
