Hi, I've got this question and attempted it this way, Nevertheless, the answer is not what it is provided. Can you help me check where i went wrong ?
Q - Jam tins of height 12 cm and diameter 7 cm are placed in a carton of length 42 cm, width 35 cm and height 48cm. How many tins will the carton hold ?
My working :
Jam tins (volume) - 3.142 x r x r x h = 3.142 x 3.5 x 3.5 x 12 = 462
Carton size (volume) - 42 x 35 x 48 = 70560
Hence the number of tins that the carton can hold = 70560 / 462 = 153
Answer provided : 120
Yup..Got it. ThX
