Okay here is the problem, I'm not sure where to begin because I keep getting impossible answers:

Find the largest possible area A of a rectangle inscribed in a unit circle x^2+y^2=1 by maximizing a as a function of theta.

PLEASE HELP!!

Off-topic note to berehn: I would recommend editing your post to remove your e-mail address. Posting your e-mail address where bots can harvest it is generally recommended against.

Edit by TKHunny: So you copied it? Or was that a fake? I deleted it anyway. :)

...what do you mean by "bots can harvest it"?
Spammers don't generally go to the trouble of collecting e-mail addresses by hand. They have automated scripts, "bots", that "harvest" the addresses for them. This is why "mailto:" links have largely disappeared from the web: the bots were sent crawling across the Internet, collecting anything they found in the HTML coding with a "@" in the middle of it.

It's fairly standard web-security practice not to leave your e-mail address "visible" anywhere. For instance, my e-mail address is not listed visibly in my profile here at FreeMathHelp. People are welcome to contact me (through the "private message" system), but bots can't "see" where I live, so to speak.

Hope that helps.

Eliz.
