Hey there, I was wondering if anybody knew of any free mathematical typing programs for download. I have a lot of the symbols on my computer, but everything turns out all messy when I try to type out proofs on word using the symbols. I have a book "how to prove it" that has a link to a proof writing program, but it is very limited. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

All one has to do is search on LaTeX.
That is what you need to learn. It is a type setting language .

If you have Word 2007, you can go to Insert -> Equation -> Insert new Equation. As you type "regular" ascii math, it will format it for you. For example, typing "x^2" will produce \(\displaystyle x^2\).

There's also things such as integrals, summations, radicals and many others.

For more advanced writing, you may want a TeX editor, but it takes a bit of learning.
