Find the missing number in this proportion.

n/45=8/15

The word proportion hints a ratio...

So as previously told they are equal so multiplying by 45 will give you the result of the variable/unknown.

...or just multiply the right hand side by 3/3 and DON'T reduce or simplify anything.
 
I would set up a porpotion (well i dont know how to spell it but you know what i mean).

n/45 = 8/15

45 x 8 = 360

360 / 15 = 24

so.................. 24/45=8/15

the answer is 24
