help please . a forest ranger can see for a distance of 12 miles from a firetower. how many square miles can he observe?

Hi Saraha,

If a forest ranger can see 12 miles long from a fire tower,
he can able to see 12 miles in any direction around him. Isn't it ?

So the area covered by the ranger will be a circle of radius, 12 miles.
Understood ?

So, the area covered by the forest ranger will be = pi * 12 * 12
= 452.54 sq.miles
