Jim's Market couldn't keep Crunchy Critter Crackers in stock. Jim started with 300 boxes but everyone wanted them. The first day Jim sold 6 boxes, and on the second day he sold 14 boxes. Each day 8 more boxes were sold than the day before. So after two days, he had sold 20 boxes. If he kept selling the crackers at this rate, when would Jim run out of Crunchy Critter Crackers?

Please share your thoughts/work and tell us exactly where you are stuck.

One reason we ask to see your work is that we don't yet know anything at all about you -- what you have learned, where you are struggling, how old you are, or anything. So we need some idea of what you do know that we can use to help you.

Again, I suggest that you just try doing something, playing with the problem to get a feel for it, just as toddlers learn how the world works by stacking blocks or tasting things they find. Taste the problem!

So, just keep going with the numbers: 6, then 14, then ... ? And the totals are 6, then 20, then ... ?

You might make a T chart, or just a list or two (which really is all a T chart is!). The important thing is, do something! Give it a try.

This is so stupid

If you just showed some willingness to take the risk of trying and perhaps making a mistake, you'd be getting lots of help here. So, yes, your behavior is stupid. (On the other hand, most likely you yourself are not as stupid as you make yourself appear.)
