There are 15 people in a store and 32% are using credit cards. How many people are using credit cards? Looking for the method to find the number of people.

Well, 32% does not work out to a whole number of people.

Calculate 32% of 15, and you'll see.

Since the exercise asks "how many people", you'll need to round the result to the nearest Whole number.

If you need lessons on how to calculate percentages, you could start with GOOGLE RESULTS.

Are you taking a math class on-line ?

No its a homework question and I can't figure it out. This was the only one that I could not get.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

0.32 * 15 = 4.8

Does it make sense to say that one of the five credit-card users in the store is only four-fifths of a person ?

Maybe the exercise contains a typographical error.

If there were 25 people in the store, instead, it would make more sense to say that 32% of them used credit cards because that percentage works out to exactly eight people. That is, eight people who are all whole, heh, heh.

0.32 * 25 = 8

You could tell the teacher that you corrected the exercise so that it makes sense. 32% of 25 people is 8 people.
