TV Advertising math word problem. Can anybody help?
Nielsen TV ratings indicated that during the week of July 3-9, 2006, the news program Dateline NBC had an audience of 7.1 million viewers, while the news program 60 Minutes on CBS had an audience of 9.1 million viewers. An advertiser has a budget of up to $1,000,000 to purchase 30-second commercial time slots on these two news programs during the next three months. Suppose that each 30-second time slot on Dateline NBC costs $30,000 and each 30-second time slot on 60 Minutes costs $40,000. The advertiser wants to purchase at least eight 30-second time slots on each of the programs, Dateline NBC and 60 Minutes, but has stipulated that at least two-thirds of the 30-second time slots that are purchased should be on Dateline NBC. How many 30-second time slots should be purchased on each of these news programs to maximize the total number of viewers? Assume the audience size will remain the same during the subsequent three months as it was during the week of July 3-9, 2006. How many viewers were there?

Are there physical formulae that can corelate the finds and the givens? What are those?
