I have a test coming up and for the life of me can't figure out 2 problems
9-b^2/b^2-b-6 says to write in simplest form

x/5x+10 +x-3/x+2=7/5 which says to solve

I will guess that you mean the following:

. . . . .(9 - b2) / (b2 - b - 6)

If so, factor the difference of squares on top, and factor the quadratic underneath. Then cancel off the common factor (after dividing out the -1, of course).

For the second one, you have posted this:

. . . . .(x/5x) + 10 + x - (3/x) + 2 = (7/5)

...but I think you probably mean this:

. . . . .x/(5x + 10) + (x - 3)/(x + 2) = 7/5

If so, then multiply through by the common denominator of 5(x + 2) to get:

. . . . .x + 5(x - 3) = 7(x + 2)

Solve the linear equation.

Eliz.
