\(\theta~\) is the Greek letter theta. \(\alpha,~\beta,~\gamma,~\delta,~\epsilon,~\iota,~\kappa,~\lambda,~\mu~~\) are others

Thanks. I understood that it's actually the theta sign. But I would like to know what it does in the function.
I need to plot it in java code.

Hi.
What would be the meaning of the sign that looks like a slashed zero?
Thanks in advance.

Please check your post! You have incomplete "("

With that incorrect statement, it is impossible to tell you what it means.

In addition, in your original post you should have included:

"... I understood that it's actually the theta sign. But I would like to know what it does in the function."

I don't know what kind of problem you are working with but if I had to guess I'd say it's the Heaviside step function. In Math it's usually designated by H(x) but in Physics it is often designated as [math]\theta (x)[/math]. It is typically used to "cut off" a portion of the domain of a function.

Assuming it is the Heaviside step function, the meaning is that the sinusoid applies only to [MATH]27\pi<t<31\pi[/MATH], and otherwise the function is zero.
