It has been a while since I have done some basic math. Can you help me?

Question: Three individuals form a partnership and agree to divide the profits equally. X invests
$9,000, Y invests $7,000, Z invests $4,000. If the profits are $4,800, how much less
does x receive compared to having the profits divided in proportion to the amounts
invested by X, Y, and Z?
How do I get the answer? Thanks for the assistance!

One approach is simple arithmetic.
Build a proportion...

x:y:z=9000:7000:4000 or
x:y:z=9:7:4

Now, think of it as a total of 9+7+4 = 20 "units"

Of the total of 4,800, x will receive 9 of the units, y will receive 7, and z will receive 4.

Now, can you think it through?
