Dear Free math,
I have a math puzzle that I really could use som guidance on. It is regarding how to measure oxygen saturation (percentage of red blood cell protein that binds oxygen molekules) in the blood stream.
Problem:
A known amount of blood runs in vessel A with a known saturation Sa.
A known amount of blood runs in vessel B with a known saturation Sb.
A known amount of blood runs in vessel C with an unknown saturation Sc
The blood from vessel A, B and C mixes and runs to vessel D. In vessel D a new known saturation is measured as Sd.
Knowing Sa, Sb and Sd is there anyway we can find Sc ?
Thank you in advance
